USSSA Members Approve Bylaws Amendments
Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent vote on the proposed amendments to the USSSA Bylaws.
We are pleased to announce that the amendments were overwhelmingly approved by the membership, passing by a vote of 545 to 10. The approved amendments are effective immediately.
As outlined in the May Pipeline newsletter and subsequent member communications, these governance updates are designed to strengthen leadership continuity, modernize the Association's election process, and better align governance practices with USSSA's operational calendar and long-term strategic planning.
The approved amendments include:
- Staggered Board elections to support continuity and preserve institutional knowledge
- Term limits for Directors
- A revised process for selecting executive officers
- Updated officer roles and responsibilities
- A transition to a calendar-year election cycle beginning in 2026
The revised bylaws may be viewed by linking HERE or by visiting the Governance page in the members-only section of the USSSA website. The annotated version highlighting the approved changes will also remain available for members who wish to review the amendments in detail.
The first election under the revised bylaws will take place this year for the four Director-at-Large positions. Under the new election timeline:
- August: Call for candidates
- October: Ballots distributed
- November: Election results announced
- December: Board selects executive officers
- January 2027: Newly elected Board officially seated
The Board of Directors extends its sincere appreciation to all members who took the time to review the proposed amendments and participate in this important governance process. Your engagement helps ensure a strong and sustainable future for our Association.
